Nothing like Black Friday to flush out all the companies who have been hanging on to your details for marketing.

I'm quite liking that #Mastodon occasionally recommends people for me to follow - given that not everyone is here (yet!) its good to make more connections. However, all the individual accounts in the latest batch were men! Perhaps that is my fault in who I follow so far? Here for balancing suggestions!

I'm honoured and delighted to have been appointed as Chair of #Yorkshire #Wildlife Trust, one of the UK's largest regional environmental charities. 2 out of 3 UK species are to be found in Yorkshire, so we have a special responsibility and opportunity to be at the forefront of #nature recovery.

The Wildlife Trusts in partnership with the local Northumberland Wildlife Trust, have agreed a two-phase purchase agreement for the Rothbury Estate, the largest piece of contiguous land to be on the market in England in the last 30 years. There are plans to work with the local community to create a new vision for the estate, which puts restoring nature at its heart.

I love my smart meter. Helps me monitor and understand energy usage, and crucially also access a cheap overnight tariff which means I can charge our EV for pennies. However, I know lots of people have had less good experiences, and Martin Lewis (as so often) seems spot on with this:

The #Cumbria Wildlife Trust appeal for nature recovery at #Skiddaw Forest has got off to a flying start. Almost half the funds raised already, though still another £650k to go. It's lovely to see the outpouring of support and generosity. If you want to chip in, here's the link:

Good to see this coming forward. It's only one small piece of the modernisation that UK #democracy needs, but it's a start. The 92 retained hereditary posts made a sort of sense as a short term transitional measure, but sorting this out well overdue.

I'm currently reading applications for a #charity trustee role. While it's a self selecting group, still really striking how much deep passion there is for action on #nature and #climate, across people with widely and wildly diverging careers and industries. An anecdotal example of what the polling data tells us - big majorities want to see a cleaner and more sustainable world.

Since Musk broke #Twitter when he bought it, advertisers have been wondering whether to advertise on it. Now increasingly seeing the debate as to whether to be on it at all. #
