I remember a couple of years ago when the software job market was super-hot and I was getting the usual repeated cold approaches from Meta recruiters (among the usual non-desperate approaches from more respectable outfits). It seemed desperate and pathetic of them. Don’t they talk to each other? Don’t they know better than to telegraph how badly they need people? I’m sure the next big recruiting push will go much, much better for them next time now that the company has telegraphed it is run by bigoted assholes who are willing to antagonize even their own employees in the pettiest ways.

I don’t worry that an LLM “writing” code will introduce costly subtle mistakes. It’s that people believe it writes. What it actually does is regurgitate existing code it has indiscriminately spidered. I worry that it does not INTRODUCE costly subtle mistakes. And that it perfectly performs the task to which it was set.
