I don't play many modern AAA games but one pattern I'm noticing from reviews of a lot of them is that

1. your choices don't matter anymore (a consequence of development being so wildly expensive they can't do branching paths)

2. 4 hours of cutscenes before you can start playing

I'm thinking really hard about investing in an "AI ready setup" but I'm struggling to think of what I would really do with that productively. Running and training local models would be great but unless that somehow hooks into my career I can't justify the cost at all.

Might have to follow the advice of "if you have to ask, you don't need it"
