Question for #ActuallyAutistic people: is it possible to have a shutdown without having a meltdown first? I identify with the former far more than the latter so I don’t think I have meltdowns - but shutdowns are much more likely for me. Am I mistaken here? 🤷🏻‍♂️

This third entry into the franchise works hard to please the fanbase with loads of references, lore and enough CG cuteness to conquer Japan. Luckily, they won't care that the narrative is riddled with plot holes and the human cast are as irritating as ever. Even Carrey's Robotnik is starting to annoy these days. 😕

The first Shrek sequel isn't a bad effort but it sticks too closely to the formula of the first film and doesn't quite feel as special. As ever, I appreciate all the boosts and support - I'm slowly trying to get back into the habit of writing regularly but I've a lot going on and RL seems determined to steal what little energy I have.

About to start reading Chloe Hayden’s Different, Not Less - another book on autism recommended to me. Mum, not really coming to terms with my autism until I’m diagnosed, says “you won’t find the answers in there!” 🤨

Like, ok. What would you have me do until I get assessed, listen to Dr Google or a single podcast? I tried telling her that there is NOTHING to support people discovering they’re #ActuallyAutistic other than good people online but… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Disney's revival/remake of the much-loved animated classic never seemed like a good idea in the first place to me. But they did a decent enough job, I suppose - quality visuals alone aren't enough to detract from a inconsistent pace, weak central performances and a lack of originality. 😕
