This is the most wholesome thing I've seen all day--which probably tells you something about the day I've had, but hey. Still counts. #wholesome

I don't usually post political things here. That's not the preferred vibe, and I respect that. With that said: the battle lines have been drawn, and this is not the kind of fight you just quietly, politely ignore and then expect to be thought kindly of by the victimized people who were too "inconvenient" to get your support.

This is genuine cruelty targeting real people. It isn't okay. And it wouldn't be, even if the perpetrators WEREN'T obvious con men and grifters.

Imagine the havoc, should you accept this offer for an "AI sales representative" to "automatically develop leads" for your business. The BEST outcome is likely if it turns out to be a pure grift without even an attempt to generate leads at all.

Received in my inbox this morning.

Nothing says "free speech absolutism" quite as hard as cracking down on the ways people talk to one another, eh?

This also triggered a rebrand of the Model 3 Performance, which is now "Scooty Puff Sr: The Doom-Bringer."

I don't think that magnet is gonna stay in place for long, though. Probably gonna have to swap that out for another transparent sticker on the rear glass.

I bought myself a Christmas present this year. Behold: it's Scooty Puff Jr! This is a CSC / Cineco / Zongshen E-RT3 all-electric maxi scooter, curb weight 450lbs, top speed with me on it 78mph.

You will know the times you live in by how blatantly the most "respectable" news organizations take payola.

Pic related.

MEME CHICKEN IS DONE

verdict: tasty. doing it up tikka style with the yogurt and the separate roasting and tandoori steps definitely elevated it over the original.

but now it's just as much work as tikka masala, and it's still nowhere near as good as tikka masala... so as pretty and as tasty as this is, I don't think it's going to enter the regular rotation.

Finally, I absolutely LOVE the taste and texture of Chicken Tikka Masala, which demands marinating the chicken overnight in yogurt before cooking.

So, last night I mixed up the meme chicken glaze, added a healthy dose of garlic, and about a cup of Greek yogurt.

Today, I pulled the chicken from the marinade, put it in the oven in a greased roaster at 400F, and I plan to char it on both sides before adding the marinade back in, reducing to 350F, and covering.

I'm doing the 400F part right now.

I've been playing with this YouTube recipe I found, which I'm calling "meme chicken."

In the original form, "meme chicken" is half a bottle of French dressing, 1 can of cranberry sauce, and 1 packet of onion soup mixed up, with chicken breasts or thighs added and baked at 350F.

OG meme chicken is VERY pretty, but sadly plain underneath the sauce/glaze. Womp womp.

But I figured marinating the chicken in the glaze overnight would help a lot. I already know that adding garlic helps, too. (cont)

This was a new technique on me: this (spear?) phisher used a t-dot-co redirect to a blob: protocol URL, which in turn results in Chrome displaying an insecure site WITHOUT the broken lock icon. You only see that the URL is insecure if you manually click the cert info button!

Recently, @allanjude asked me to write a nice simple article about accounting for #OpenZFS space consumption, highlighting the differences between zfs list, zpool list, and non-zfs-aware tools.

"Ah, lazy Saturday, I'll knock this out in a hurry!" I confidently thought about seven hours ago...

TFW you don't have controlled access, and the users like to randomly reboot things:

(I put these warnings on a rack in 2013, after a user randomly wandered in on a Sunday and interrupted a 9+ hour scheduled migration by bouncing every box in the rack. It was Mother's Day, too--and thanks to him, I didn't spend the day with MY wife, EITHER.)

There's nothing quite like the high dudgeon of someone who ignores evidence and argues in obvious bad faith, then is shocked--SHOCKED!--at receiving neither more nor less polite response than they've earned.

This guy had just finished explicitly stating that it was perfectly fine for RMS to publicly support "voluntary pedophilia" for thirteen years.

There is a (presumably open source) software project called "Waitress."

I am aware of this solely because I receive infosec-related email alerts, which includes warning me about "waitress vulnerabilities."

I am not enjoying the cognitive dissonance, and I wish the author and contributors all the infosec good luck in the world, if only so I can not see more of these subject lines in the future...
