I feel like there was a solid, cohesive, complete version of this story at one time. Then someone decided to make it much shorter than two hours, or it was suddenly only one picture, or it was no longer a limited series.
There’s a bunch of connective tissue missing. We’re suddenly solving problems that have just appeared, or there’s magically more red eggs, or we’re in a brand new location with no context.
Fun, but incomplete.

All lives matter, even seemingly non-sentient ones. Vivisectionism is a pernicious evil in this world much like a fresh bowel movement placed in the middle of the vast marble floor of Versailles: inappropriate and undesirable.
Friends, both old and new, are more important than anything else; and that is part of doing the right thing.

Imagine being able to see every single possibility of every single decision you could possibly make played out to its logical end. Now imagine you can do this for every descision you have ever made, and ever will make. Now imagine you can do the same for every single person in the past, and now, and ever will be.
Hell is the results of other people’s decisions.

Bookended with sadness because of the death of Chadwick Boseman, it also speaks of the resilience of people in the face of adversity. No matter where one lives, or used to live, challenges will never be more than can be overcome.
Evil must be opposed, but violence alone cannot be the answer.

Love conquers all. We may lose those we love, but others need us just as we needed those we lost.
But why must the goats scream so much‽

I love the complexities involved with fighting an antagonist by remotely using alternate versions of oneself. It’s definitely a fun twist.
It’s a story as old as time: doing the wrong thing for the right reason. However, we also learn that to try to do the right thing the wrong way will never work. Love must always, and only, come from love; other ways make a monster.

Whenever a supreme power (human or god) has a plan which involves the inevitable death of many, blind faith in the plan is questionable. Dissent among those carrying out the plan will happen.
I would have preferred this as a limited series more, as it would give us more time to explore motivation and moralities. We will have more time to spend with them, and that is enough.

It’s fantastic to finally see an Asian super hero! Wong is great, but he was a second to Doctor Strange’s cultural appropriation.
It’s also great to see two people supporting each other as friends without having romantic entanglements as well.
Overall, the message here
Is to be true to yourself and your principles, and do not be swayed by others. Your life is your’s, their life is their’s; everyone needs to remember that.

All of that being said, it’s a hell of a film and I cannot wait to see more of Yelena’s story! She’s a great character and is almost as much of a smart alec as Tony Stark! Seeing her and Rocket face-to-face would be snark-filled fun!

The problem with the #MultiverseSaga is that there aren’t points to anchor each stage of things the way there were with the #Avengers movies every so often.
This film has an additional problem in that it was supposed to come before the two final Avenger films, but came after them, plus the fact it should have happened even longer before that. But, hey, women in #Marvel films get fewer opportunities no matter what, right? ‘It’s Chinatown, Jake!’

While it’s a bit long, and breaks several laws of theoretical physics, it has talking raccoon and a magic glove, so maybe stuff your pickiness in a box, Einstein!
Lots of fun and thrills to be had here, with the over-arching message of hope, team work, and the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few.

A very positive set of lessons about what heroes of any variety look like. Gender, colour of blood, and number of arms or tentacles do not matter; it’s what is in your heart that counts.

A good old fashioned thrill ride with jokes, tons of action, and even some romantic heart-tugging moments.
Good over evil, science with a modicum of hand-wavy content, and a positive message about helping others.

It’s all come down to this.
There are so many threads, all tightening into a knot of Gordian complexity. It is inevitable, no matter how it may seem that the Big Bad Man can actually be stopped, the train wreck is already forming and cannot be diverted (nor can the wreck of these metaphors be avoided).
The ‘snapture*’ is so insidious in its silence that its power is ten-fold.

While extremely silly at times (not a bad thing, by the way), the most important message here is one of eternity: family, friendship, and cultures. Yes, lives have an end, we lose friends, and people lose their homes.
But everything continues, all the same.

A surprisingly complicated story here. Some would say ‘unnecessarily so.’ I think at one point there are five plot threads waving around. With all that, however, it works.
‘What is family’ and ‘which is the more important of knowledge and heart’ are two questions posed. The answers are ‘whatever you make it,’ and ‘what you feel in your heart.’
Always a good message to remember.

Sometimes there are no villains, no heroes, just victims.
Compromise is a double-edged sword, and that’s just the ‘best case’ scenario.
Enough aphorisms.
There’s a whole bunch of complicated stuff going on in here, chief being the question of what ‘freedom’ and ‘responsibility’ actually look like.
Plus some answers to ‘if [x] and [y] got into a fight, who would win?’
SPOILER: no one. No one wins.
