Today something I wanted to do for a long time worked so well, that I'm impressed:

Configured a ubuntu install on raspberry pi to use automount maps from #freeipa and configured TrueNAS to export the home directory with nfs4 and kerberos.

Worked amazingly! Now we got our home directories mounted from our NAS on the linux machines. It was so cool that it worked.

The only annoying thing is that Firefox and thunderbird installed with Snap don't work well with those directories.

Jeg synes at det er kult at Pebble kommer tilbake (https://repebble.com) og greia.

Jeg husker at jeg hadde skrevet en app for den som hetet Weathyr, og som var en vær app som hentet data fra Yr. Den ble brukt i mange år etter at Pebble har sluttet med sin appstore.

Men lurer på om det er for sent for dem?

Fra “det må være en bedre måte å gjøre dette»-seriene:

Ruter har buss for trikken mellom John Collets plsss og Rikshospitalet. Arbeidene startet i september og skulle vært ferdig den 8. januar. Vel, nå snakker de om mars.

Men det som er enda irriterende er dette: kommer du med trikken, noen ganger står en buss på holdeplassen. Som drar med en gang trikken har kommet! Uten oss!

Og omvendt: Man går av bussen for å ta trikken som står der men som drar med en gang vi kommer ut av bussen.

I am a bit in shock.

I read on Brazilian newspapers today that the first flight with deportees after Trump's inauguration arrived in Brazil.

The deportees flew handcuffed and with chains in their feet. Some had bruises and signs of physical aggression.

The airplane seemed to have problems with the air conditional and did not seemed to be on a decent state, which panicked some of the people onboard.

This is inhumane, How can the American people find it ok?

You know, being Brazilian, you kinda develop an atavistic attitude towards some stuff.

We always believed in Brazil that industrialization was the way to overcome underdevelopment. Because of that, Brazil has a tradition of high taxation of manufactured goods.

Since China became a huge world factory for the world, all this was though as an archaic form of thinking: development wouldn't be based on industry, but on the so called post industrial society.

Is it too early to call it BS?

I always had a strong sympathy with people in a hostage situation. I remember following the news about the Colombians kidnapped by the FARC, and read most books about it. Can’t imagine the suffering, and can’t imagine how this can be perpetrated.

The release of the hostages is a bright moment in this immense darkness. Happy for the families, happy for those release. And happy for those who will have a break from the war.

Let’s just hope it lasts.
