CPUs are so smart now, they are live-translating the assembly instructions, reordering them to be more efficient, etc. Basically JIT compiling. Assembly language definitely isn't the language of the CPU anymore, it's just the intermediate language that we speak to the CPU with.
So in this day and age, would it make sense to consider assembly language a high-level language?

Tech people in the early 1990s:
A: "Let's make a new universal bus to connect all your computer peripherals to!"
B: "Oh, very good idea! We should give it a clear, simple name. How about just BUS? You know, you have a Certified BUS device, and you plug into the BUS."
A: "Sure, let's go with that. But adjust it a little."
The end result:

My mother gave me this big cuddly fox for my birthday! It's very soft and squishy, like a Blåhaj.

I have seen many German memes of the format:
xxx und trotzdem da
yyy antifa
Does anyone know where it started? And has anyone collected a list of them somewhere?
(If not, maybe we should just collect them here as replies)

A question for (mostly) the game developers. Are there any games/game engines out there that accurately simulate monochromatic light? Is yellow light actually yellow, and not treated as a mix of red and green?
For example, if you are rendering a yellow sodium lamp, and the light falls on a green object, is the reflected light that you see green or yellow? True monochromatic light can only ever be reflected back as the same colour, so with only yellow light present, everything must appear yellow. Mixed light behaves as an addition of the reflections of each individual colour, so if the light were a mix of red and green, then a green object would reflect the green but no red, so you would see green.

Allyship is about more than just being a nice person, being friends, or whatever. It's also about recognising what hurts or excludes them. Showing people that you will stand up for them. Having their back, believing who they say they are and acting against anyone who dares to say otherwise.
Trans people reading this, you are valid, you are the gender you are, you are not your AGAB. And I will bite anyone who claims otherwise.

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Without asterisks. Somehow that still bears repeating even to people who consider themselves LGBT+ allies.
If you would feel uncomfortable with a trans person in a situation where a cis person of the same gender does not make you uncomfortable the same way, then you don't consider the trans person to be who they are. Same if you expect a trans person to respond differently than a cis person, if you expect them to like/dislike different things, etc. If someone's AGAB makes a difference to you, or makes you feel uneasy, then you should look into yourself about why, not expect the other person to understand and accommodate.
If someone calls you out on this, and you double down, then you're being transphobic. If someone else is called out on this, and you defend the person who's being called out, then you're being transphobic.
