Kim Gordon said it best:
"I wanted to know the exact dimensions of hell.
Does this sound simple? Fuck you!
Are you for sale?
Does 'Fuck you' sound simple enough?"

I do see the term used on Bluesky. In part it's being used to comment on the #cutewinterboots trend on TikTok. But people are also using it in a code-word sense. I doubt that's because they think it's blocked on Bluesky -- it seems more about connecting to a trend.
In ALL cases, I would caution people against any use of codewords to protect against government surveillance. As The Grugq said, codewords are really stupid ways to avoid state surveillance, because they are easily deciphered.

I'm going to talk to CBC about code words people use in corporate social media to get around algorithms -- things like #cutewinterboots on TikTok.
While using it on TikTok can make sense, I was curious to see where else it's used.
I don't really see that term used here on the fediverse, which makes sense. The fediverse doesn't really need (or want) obfuscation -- in fact, it's better to talk about the topic directly.

I know many folks already know this, but I've been out of the CSS game for a bit, and I have returned to discover CSS Grid and it is the bomb!

@seanlawson and I wrote a book called "social engineering."
The Trump White House loves that term. What do they mean by it? What is the history of this curious term? And might Trump and his pals, themselves, be engaging in social engineering?
May I humbly suggest you check out our book? It's now available as an e-book on Bookshop.org!

I haven't read the Chronicle of Higher Education in a long time, but apparently they now have Chron, an AI-based chatbot that will surface articles from the Chronicle's rich history.
Based on that description, all I can imagine it saying to any query is "YOU'RE DOOMED YOU WILL NEVER FIND A JOB OR GET TENURE OR PUBLISHED OR ANYTHING"

Is Discover's job just to crash? I've run KDE in various distros -- Ubuntu, Manjaro, Fedora. No matter the distro, Discover just crashes. It's borderline useless, which is strange for essential software.

@vantablack A personal part of this: Meta reached out to me to talk about federation back then. After a great deal of consideration, I told them I would be happy to chat if they paid me a consultation fee. They said they had no budget for that, and the conversation stopped.
Meta had no budget. Heh.

Great interview with @vantablack about Fedipact, the agreement to not federate with Threads. Vanta talks about the big reasons people signed back in '23 -- EEE, poor moderation. Even more relevant today!
