Toots for sashag@chaosfem.tw account

It's weird how people who happily followed me and talked to me on this account here absolutely do none of that on my new account @sashag@anarres.family

Another reminder that this account is defunct now. My (not so) new account is https://anarres.family/@sashag aka @sashag@anarres.family

I'd love to follow you over there. I'm slowly manually migrating my followings. So it might very well be that I'm not yet following from the new account.

So to make it more official, I will be migrating to @sashag@anarres.family.

The automatic migration process might follow. And I will post some new pinned posts ☺️

Well, a merry fuck you hard and unpleasantly to Lyn Corelle, author of the current chapter of this anthology I'm reading for writing without any punctuation and all in lower case.

And for not really forming sentences, but blubbering out a stream of words.

There are people out here, who are not able to read a text like this, because it burns their mind and energy at an unsustainable speed. 😡

Yes, maybe extrovert. But I still enjoy my introvert side.

Like having a hot chocolate, calm music and a nice book.

Wgy, yes, I'm so fond of these flowers that I carry them around in the house 🤭

Having a 1:1 with my engineering director and he says: "I would guess you identify as an extrovert."

Be careful kids! HRT has irreversible effects on your life! :BlobhajTransPrideHeart:

Just read a text by a gay author.

And it struck me, how the things he described experiencing growing up were familiar and strange at the same time.

Like something borrowed, not mine. Like being an observer, but not the protagonist.

This actually is, what I was. An observer, alien to the things happening to me. Happening to him, not actually me.

I guess this counts as a form of depersonalization. Not pathologizing it, just giving it a name. Weird to review this process (I can't really remember the details of situations) in hindsight.

There is this funny thing … whenever I notice someone looking at me with this weird half confused, half disapproving cis look, I start to ramp up the Femme performance regarding behavior. I enjoy this so much.

Not sure if anyone else does something like this. 🤔

I just had to think of this song of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. Oh this wonderful melancholy 🥹

My list of untitled documents goes up to 176 by the way 😅

So the Bbedit developers introduced a tiny feature called "Save as Note". These files are stored inside the app preferences folder and the name and title they get is the first line of the document. What a brilliant and simple idea!

Sometimes users use a software exactly the way they want and the software company follows up with a feature making this more comfortable. Instead of forcing people to follow their ieads.

A good example is the ancestor of all MacOS editors (I think it even was available for System 8 and 9), Bbedit.

A lot of users use the text editor as sort of a notepad. Including me. And since MacOS has this feature to enable apps to keep unsaved stuff in something like a suspend-to-disk thing, they are permanent.

In Bbedit you then end up with a list of "untitled document"s. Which looks like this.

So I got an approval of my eye surgeries from my (private) health insurance 🎉

Which is good, because I have already booked surgeries for next week Tuesday and two weeks later Wednesday 🥹

I have this very sweet spot for English poetry. Just another example: https://youtu.be/GMsM_zWvWvo

(it's not a coincidence that both are love poems)

Patrick Stewart and I have the same favorite Shakespeare sonnet https://youtu.be/yc6vouCzwZg

This is so beautiful.

What you see at the beginning of the video is a wonderful iPad app with videos and text of all Shakespeare sonnets.

So my unconference session today has been called "the best and most inclusive and interactive session I've ever seen at a company meeting".

I guess this would be worth a capital letter entry in an achievement journal, if I would have one.

I always recommend them to other people, but I don't … 🤷‍♀️

RSD really is a shitty thing. And it even manifests online.

Like you follow someone you really value (not to be more concrete) and they interact with you in a friendly, personal way.

But they don't follow you back.

It's ridiculous and illogical, but it hurts. Massively.

There can be millions of reasons for this. There can be absolutely no reason. It's none of your business whys they don't.

Which is why you never ever would ask. You just keep quiet and try to be friendly, while internally you are consumed by a pain you know has no actual reason. Which makes it hurt even more.

This is the one ADHD trait I wouldn't miss. The only one, but I would throw a party if it was gone.

"… in the course of the festivities, president Steinmeier will give a speech to 1400 invited guests …"

On behalf of 80 million Germans I would like to extend my sincere apologies to these 1400 unlucky people.

(Steinmeier is a terrible speaker)
