So last year I moved a couple sites from #wordpress hosted on #aws lightsail to #hugo hosted on AWS s3. This was done to reduce tech debt (I don’t feel like supporting more lightsail servers than necessary), reduce cost, and it just felt better: why do my little blogs and such need to spin up so much to server boring, rarely-changing html?
This year I’m wondering if I should move those elsewhere. Trying to reduce my personal Amazon spending due to social issues and being cheap. Considering a move to #github pages: they’re still part of a massive corporation, but I’ve seen hints there’s some good guides to basically sync repositories between my local device and GitHub, then have triggers run scripts to generate and publish on their system. This could also mean I could eventually add some limited access for trusted associates if it makes sense to edit/create content.
Anyone got good guides for the latter part? Learning the git world does halogen with current career goals, so that’s a plus.

Anyone have any #blender3d courses they’d recommend? I’ve done the beginner stuff but looking at something that is a bit more structured and willing to pay a few $$.

A quick question for @robindlaws or anyone else that might know: is Backerkit essentially “skipping kickstarter” for new projects like Trail of Cthulhu? It seemed odd and I was hesitant to engage (I.e. buy) due to the process being weird.

@robindlaws I was getting caught up on your podcast and listened to a recent episode where you discussed reality horror. Would the first 20 minutes or so of The Matrix count in your mind? The agent’s to whom physics are just a suggestion, the “no mouth” scene, etc.
Of course it takes a strong swerve into super hero territory for the rest of the movie.
