@gedeonm Happy birthday to someone whose skills frequently make me wonder: “how is that just a freehand sketch in Linea?!”

Our new mayor in Whitehorse, who I voted for in large part because I believe a mayor should have experience as a city councillor before becoming mayor, basically said “trust me, I’m honest, I don’t think rules are necessary” in response to questions about whether there should be some kind of campaign finance and disclosure rules.
He’s made me regret voting for him already. Time to email the councillors to demand rules such rules.

@chris Not as cool as the Mars stuff you’ve shared, but here’s my recent aircraft sighting… the first Boeing 737-800 in the Air North, Yukon’s Airline fleet. The tail on the 800s features a caribou, a symbol of survival, resilience, culture, and much more to the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation (who own 49% of the airline). For over a decade I’ve worked on Air North’s marketing and design, and I had the privilege of working on this (though I did not create the caribou art, just incorporated it).

A Tlingit woman had a pivotal role in starting the Klondike Gold Rush. But Shaaw Tláa, also known as Kate Carmack, has been overlooked in historical accounts compared to the men she helped keep alive, according to her relatives.

@LALegault Yesterday I saw your toot about tea cups around the house, and I thought… who does that? I always know where my mug of tea is.
Today, I glanced in my living room as I was going by and saw a forgotten mug of tea on the coffee table. So it turns out that it’s me, I do that.

I don't know if seeing my dog roll over will cheer anyone else up, but her strange ways certainly help lift my mood. Welcome to... Neko Rolls Over.

@Iconfactory I'm not sure if it's the latest version of Linea or iPadOS 17.1.1 (this didn't happen the last time I used the app with 4.2.3 and 17.1), but if I try rearranging layers the Linea icon appears overtop of the selected layer—making it impossible to change the layer order. The issue is not present with Stage Manager turned off.
