Contains lots of small improvements, including:

– Numbered lists now automatically update when modified

• Searching within a file shows the number of results

• Added "Insert footnote" command

Obsidian has completed a second independent audit by the security firm @cure53.

The report finds that incremental updates since Obsidian 1.5.3 maintained the highest degree of attention to security, and that no new vulnerabilities were introduced.

Web viewer is a new core plugin that lets you open external links within Obsidian. This simplifies reading linked content without leaving the app and makes multitasking on web research projects easier.

Obsidian 1.7.7 is now available for desktop and mobile with a few bug fixes.

Desktop

• Fixed position of fold indicators in reading mode (for real this time).

• Installer has been updated to Electron 32.2.5. This includes the fix for Developer Tools not remembering dark mode.

Mobile

• Fixed share extension not working on iOS 18.

• Fixed drag and drop in the file explorer and outline view not working on iOS.
