Are you tired of tech enshittification?

Are you frustrated that the once free, consumer focused start up you built your entire business around has become difficult to use, expensive and sells your personal data?

Are you struggling to leave these platforms because your entire life and income is tied to them?

Well worry no more, because now we have Enshittification 2.0: EnNazification!

Now your platforms are not just poorly designed and exploitative, but actively working to undermine your democracy and personal freedoms.

Also they've increased their fees above inflation yet again so you can be sure that the hate speech in your notifications is of the highest quality.

Enjoy!

Every time I have to speak to HMRC it feels like an act of self harm. I think they get some sordid pleasure out of how Kafkaesque they make everything.

Something I've noticed with how I look at blurbs is that, yes, I completely ignore what it says as promotional hype. But I do treat the authors names as an implicit "if you like their books, you might like this" guideline. But that's more like a genre classification than a mark of quality for me.

Anyone spend a lot of time with new software searching "how do I turn off X feature" only to find this "helpful" thing annoying you is baked in and can't be customised?

A #trans woman is selling her Scottish castle because of transphobic abuse from the locals ( https://news.stv.tv/highlands-islands/highland-carbisdale-castle-on-sale-for-5m-after-owner-suffers-transphobic-abuse )

How about we club together to buy it, move 100 of us in there as a commune, outnumber the bigoted villagers and take over the local council?

TIL that if you stand on the bendy bit of a train or bus as it goes around a corner, you shift into a slightly different dimension.

Like, this morning everything was normal. Then after standing here as the train curved around a bend, little things are different.

Like, I'm sure cinnamon danish rolls used to spiral the other way. Since when was Jeff Goldblum an actor? Is that recent or was he never the Pope? And when did "Florida" become a thing? Is the Grand Council of Librarians no longer fact checking all laws before they're made? Do you guys really still use capitalist economics?

I gotta get back on that train again.

Shit like Gascรณn's tweets is why the #queer community always has to strive to be better on intersectionality. We have deep problems with racism that we need to reckon with and not just assume we're in the right just because we're also marginalised.

So one of the new #euro banknotes will have #libraries on them! But that'll be on the โ‚ฌ50 note so probably won't pass through your wallet that often...

That's one of the two options. The others have rivers on one side and institutions on the other. Ironically the highest value note would portray the court of auditors.

So.... #Section31 was.... Well it there...

I guess most of its flaws are shared by all modern Trek films, and action sci-fi generally. Yet it's uniquely instantly forgettable.

But for the most part... Meh. I don't hate is by virtue of having very low expectations. And hey, there was only a small endorsement of torture so by modern TV that's not bad.

I don't love it because what is there to love? It's pretty generic and incredibly disconnected the world, ethos and style of the franchise. Just a mediocre action film that happens to be loosely connected to Trek.

Tempted to write another post with actual spoiler discussion but not even sure what to say about this besides how underused certain characters are. Which stinks of development hell behind it tbh.

I'm sure the execs are happy with it. They're the only ones who wanted it.

My nest partner is complaining of there being too much shark in the bed.

Personally I don't think that's possible, but this is what happens when a trans couple goes to IKEA.

For the record, they bought every single one of those blรฅhaj so they don't have a fin to stand on here.

Some people think it weird that I congratulate my cat on doing a good poop each time I empty the litter tray.

But any cat owner will know that when your cat stops doing good poops, or stops pooping entirely, then that is a very expensive trip to the vet.

And cats respond better to positive reinforcement than negative.

So, well done kitty. That's a fine poop. I'm going to put this in the special place to keep is safe. Flush
