I just saw a picture of Obama and Trump being all chummy at President Carter's funeral, and the only thing I can think of is when I was a kid and thought pro wrestling was real until I grew up and realized the wrestler's were all having a good laugh together while off camera.

Here's a smooth rendition of Duke Ellington's All Too Soon. Meanwhile, watching the guitarist's fingers working the strings is doing things to me. #AllThatJazz

Here’s our winter wonderland today. Could have been worse. We topped out around 2 inches after early forecasts as high as 6 to 8. #snow #philly #phillysnow

Totally weird question. I know I'm probably the only nut who weighs eggs before using them, but aside from that does anyone know why they decrease in weight over the course of several days?

I just saw something rather sobering. You know those best before dates on a lot of packaged foods? They were originally designed to help stores rotate stock. They have nothing to do with food spoilage. Eventually a lot of that food to the tune of 78 million tons a year winds up in landfills because people won't buy or use it past the date. In a country where millions of people go hungry every day. Now food manufacturers are going to stop putting these dates on all but a few foods where spoilage is a health issue. Probably won't help feed any more people, but might add a few pennies to the bottom line of food retailers.

I believe I've mentioned the Dave Brandstetter series by Joseph Hansen previously, but having now finished the entire 12 book collection I wanted to post some final thoughts. This is excellent crime fiction for anyone who's into that. Hansen does a masterful job portraying the underbelly of Southern California from the 70's and 80's. The dialogue is top notch, and there's no secret made of the fact that Brandstetter is an out gay man. Anyone interested should be able to find most of these books in any decent sized library.

The TV is droning on in the background while I'm putting away the groceries, and out of nowhere I hear some guy say you got all the head. Turns out it was a beer tasting show.

I did some grocery shopping tonight figuring the store wouldn't be too busy the day after Christmas. Everything went fine, finished checking out, and the clerk says thanks Pop. I think he should recover in time to ring in the New Year.

I just saw that a fundraiser to pay for Luigi's defense has already reached $50000. It's gonna be interesting when the time comes to watch them try to pick an impartial jury.
