One of my #Christmas presents to myself and my partner and my anxiety towards the next impending doom that threatens the free flowing supply of bog roll, I grabbed one of the LUXE Neo 185 #Bidet attachments for the bathroom closest to our bedrooms. We've been spending the month getting used to it, and I have to say it is truly wonderful. My partner noticed immediately that it is life changing for cleanup during her time. it has taken me a little time to get used to the cold water (I know there are other options, but most are not feasible where we have it that aren't an arm and a leg), but there is something really amazing about really only needing paper to dry off.
Install of the Neo 185 couldn't be easier, and we sprung for the supply line with the valve so we can turn down the house pressure a little to give us a little variability at the dial.
A month later, and I had to get another one for the main bathroom as well. Housemates are intrigued!

With the debacle of West Wing getting pulled and then reinstated on Max (yeah, I know. first world, head in sand, need cope problems), I realized that I hadn't finished ripping the DVDs to put on the media server. I picked them up used some time ago. I truly loathe trying to track down favorite shows across various streaming services, so I really try to obtain physical media. I can then rip it and upload it to my jellyfin server and have it streamable for me anytime I want without fear of it disappearing or relocating. I highly recommend it. You never know when a favorite way of obtaining brain chemicals is going to fall out from underneath you right at the moment you need it most.

Anybody have any experience making gluten free batter dipped Korean fried chicken?
BokABok closed various stores close to us, so getting it is a little more difficult.
I have found a few recipes online that we're going to experiment with soon, but would love tips and tricks from someone that has made it successfully.

I also grabbed some hairy vetch seed with the intent of seeing if I can get some started as a cover crop in the flower beds. they are in dire need of enrichment. I will have to commit to not letting them go to seed, which I think I can do, and it should do nice things for the beds. I have a currently unused semi-shade bed that mostly grows weeds, and if I can get some vetch on it, I might have a viable space for some other flowers this Spring.

Been putting off gardening stuff for a while (winter cleanup, etc), but decided to take some time to clean up the dead pots from this last year (mostly spent basil and some tomato starts that never got planted). Got the soil sorted and enriched. Ready for this spring. Lots more to do. Need to get the tomato bags out of the rain so they'll dry out some for me and stop leeching away all the stuff I put in them. Then I can amend the soil and get those ready too.
Also getting a jump on things by getting some thyme started in the seeding rack inside. I'm going to start 4 - 6" inch pots and I expect they will remain indefinitely in the rack. I have a deck pot where I last had some thyme growing, and when things warm up enough, I'll move some of it out there. But this should keep a good supply.
Lots more tomatoes planned for this year. I also have thoughts of trying some potatoes. Also lots of flowers and herbs. Lots to distract me from the rest of the shit.

Found myself listening to various covers and the original of #VinceGuaraldi 's classic from the #CharlieBrownChristmas movie, Skating. I made it a goal a year or two ago to learn the piano part in time for the holiday that year. I picked up his transcription and set to work on it, and the one thing I was struck by was the tempo. It's SO FAST. I got it to about 80% or so when I was working on it regularly, but even that was luck and sheer muscle memory. 😄
Tonight as I was listening to various covers, I stumbled on the recordings of takes of this recording that have been released, and the beginning of this one tells me he knew it was fucking fast and even he struggled occasionally.
I also deeply appreciate his skill at powering through flubs. This take has one in the main theme after the solo bits, and he just carried on as if nothing happened. Love it!
