We knew I had to do it 😉

Yesterday, I posted a picture from a protest in #Hannover, and it went wildly viral here on #Mastodon. ✊🏼

But on #Bluesky it was even crazier! It's the first (big) post I've seen from Mastodon, that was more popular on another platform – and it wasn't even close.

I don't really have an explanation, the #CES is over, and everything should be back to "normal". But I like it, of course!

[#]Flipboard was also bigger again, that's why "the #Fediverse" (meaning for me #Mastodon, #Bluesky and @Flipboard) are on par with #Facebook 🤭

Well, this is interesting: For two weeks now, #Mastodon is bringing noticeably more traffic to @heiseonline. #Bluesky is also growing again, and even #Threads bringing in more than ever before.

The #TwitterAlternatives are reaching new heights.

I have a question for experts on @Mastodon: On #Sharkey I can format a text very simply as quote and Mastodon recognizes that and also applies a special formatting. It looks especially good in the offical app.

But, what I don't (yet?) know is, how to get this formatting (as a quote) in Mastodon itself. Is that even possible? Does anybody know?

You know, what the community on #Mastodon should do know?

In the past few days, many thousands of users started flocking to #Pixelfed. The main instance is growing fast and there is much activity, but compared to #Instagram (where they're coming from) it's still quiet. If you stumble upon a a nice picture from Pixelfed, share it to your followers here all over the #Fediverse. We can show, how big the audience is already.

With 100 more the picture desn't change that much: #Matodon clearly in the lead, but it absolutely shows, that is possible to reach an audience beyond that in the #Fediverse. Not to forget, there were many many many likes in #Lemmy before the post was deleted at lemmy.world.

After some German unions yesterday, more than 60 (!!) German universities left #X/#Twitter today. Some are already active on #Mastodon. They justified this with their commitment to fact-based communication and against antidemocratic forces. Values that promote diversity, freedom and science aren't present over there, they say. 👏🏻
