My latest project is the result of capturing 35+ hours of the Heart Nebula in the constellation of Cassiopeia.

@connected Oddly, it just worked when trying with my iPad. The same thing happened for ATP. 🤷

@connected I’ve been trying to follow the show via my membership URL in Apple Podcasts, but it doesn’t work. After entering the URL and clicking the Follow button, nothing happens (no feedback for error or success). The same happens on iOS, even when tapping the Apple Podcasts option in my membership settings. Is this issue common? I’m not running any Apple beta OSes.

@glass I’m looking to build an iOS app for viewing images from NASA, but I’m struggling with building the view for zooming and panning the image. Your implementation is exactly what I’m looking for. Can you share, and will you share, how you built it? Is it third-party or custom? It’s such a nice UI.

This is a thread to show off the beautiful objects I image by pointing my telescope toward the cosmos. If you want to see the nerdy details, such as integration time, coordinates, and location information, check out my AstroBin profile at the attached URL.

@ismh86 @imyke Did I dream it, or did you announce two new podcasts earlier in the year? I think one is named Linen, maybe? I can’t find anything about them, so maybe I dreamt it. 🤷

@BenRiceM Can I ask how you generate the patterned symbols in Freckle? I want to create something similar to use as a banner background in my app, but I have no clue how. No problem if you don’t feel like sharing. I just don’t even know what API to search for to get started.

I’ve been working on my health and fitness since the beginning of the year. After illnesses, having a child, moving multiple times, and dealing with structural issues with our first home, I’m happy that today’s workout moved me from a low cardio fitness level to a below-average cardio fitness level. It feels like a big win for me right now. 🥹

@marcoarment @_Davidsmith I’ve been listening to podcasts for a long time (Smart Speed has saved me 507 hours so far). I have found Under the Radar to be invaluable. It’s the only show in my Starred playlist. Thanks so much for continuing to provide value. It’s helping to shape how I approach my personal project. Your Pillars series is so incredibly helpful.

@davedelong I recall you stating that you use Core Data to store logs rather than OSLog. Do you only store the logs, or do you also use OSLog to print to the debugger? Maybe something else I’m not considering?
I'm interested in using your Core Data approach so I can easily access logs from users and extensions, but I still want to retain the printed logs for local debugging because I do find OSLog to be useful locally for rapid feedback.

@harshil Did you implement HKObserverQuery
with TCA to get background updates? If so, did you use any references to figure out how to use that closure-based query with TCA? I'm feeling a bit dumb today.

@harshil Any pointers for animating a view to match the appearance of Peak's app icon at the top of the 'About Peak' view? It mimics the widget gallery, which is a really nice touch.

@AstroKatie Uh, I really need it to be 2025 because How to Build a Universe sounds like a book I want to read right now. Congratulations on the grant. Can’t wait to read it!

@twostraws In the same article, “Model contexts provide some extra functionality that is often useful, including the ability to undo or redo changes, and the ability enable or disable autosave.” should have “and the ability to enable or disable”

@twostraws In “What's the difference between ModelContainer, ModelContext, and ModelConfiguration?”, should the first bullet point of “ModelContainer is responsible for creating and managing the actual database file used all SwiftData’s storage needs.” be “ModelContainer is responsible for creating and managing the actual database file used in all of SwiftData’s storage needs.”?
