(Lewd phrase warning at the end.)

Oh boy. So the 8 ounce bottle of "Naturals" hand sanitizer I ordered arrived...Turns out I misread the listing and it's actually a 33.8 ounce bottle. It's definitely more than I need in one place.

I don't think it has an unpleasant fragrance, per se, a bit like patchouli or cardamom with lemongrass or citrus. But my Husband stopped speaking mid-sentence to sniff the air frantically when I used it. And at this size, it'll be around a while. I may need to see if there's a local business or community space that could use it.

The worst part is now I can't look at this enormous bottle with the name printed on it without thinking, "Here's my Big Naturals."

I've posted this even though the Hashtag Games hashtag trips my filters. I blame/credit @Dr_Bombay for sneaking it in.

Haircut day today, and my barber asked to trim an eyebrow hair. “Hold still,” he said, with the tiniest snip ever. I must have finally turned That Age.

But at least he asked. The only other time this happened to me was with a barber in Virginia who smacked me in the face with a comb first and drove electric clippers over it like a race car driver around a tight turn, whether I wanted him to or not. He also laughed when I jumped at the unexpected lighter flame singeing the hair near my ears. I’m sure I only tipped him 20% in retaliation.

Today I am grateful to have a little more will to live than yesterday, since our coffeemaker has lost its overnight. (Thankfully it finished making its final morning pot before expiring.) And I think we can walk to a hardware store that carries its exact replacement, so bonus for that.

I do not need to buy clearance Halloween decorations from Target. It will not fix me. It will not cure America. I do not have shelf space. I recently hit myself in the head on a stack of homeless books. There is no room. Do not add to cart. Don’t.

The line at our polling place was short but possessed a plethora of voting situations: The person who wanted same-day registration (yes, have a provisional ballot); the person from an entirely different district, possibly county, who hoped to vote here (sorry, no); the person who wanted to put their vote-by-mail ballot through the machine (no, those are either accepted as provisional, taken to city hall, or more simply voided with a new ballot issued.) At least two languages spoken, forms for four.

The poll workers handled everything, even the more heated citizens, with a few stops and starts, but we all did the thing.

We're leaving it up to the rest of you now. Make good choices, America.

Spent the morning preparing for The Thing. Drove out with people to do The Thing. Now we're back home, and recovering from The Thing.

(The Thing, to be clear, was going with neighbors to meet a salesman at their showroom. Not particularly A Thing unless you've been having Big Introvert Feelings.)

Our neighbor across the street has just got a new electric leaf blower, which he started testing out at 8 this morning, pushing leaves and dirts and litter away from his sidewalk. There is now a cord-length semicircle of “no longer my problem” around his house.

It is 94°F outside my house; I am in the mesh shorts and tshirt that I wore yesterday. Email makes my computer too warm to look at. The folds in my brain have melted and smoothed, and I literally cannot right now.

We were reviewing footage from cameras last night looking for a burglar down the street, and instead found this shifty character looking for the ACME warehouse. Our street is not near any wooded parks, so it's unclear how far this critter travelled to get here.

"I should either go for a walk, or take a shower, or play some Stardew Valley," I thought. Then the phone rang and my mother asked why my father can't tune in the 49ers game. 20 minutes of phone tech support and internet sleuthing later, it turns out this is a turf war between AT&T and Disney, and now I understand why they've been saying they can't get the news from David Muir anymore. Looking at prices and options, and trying to figure out what will work on their TV. Another hour has passed and I still need a shower, the sun is going down, no games have been played and my father is still not watching his team's first game of the season.

Ah, technology.

I hope someone with a better camera and an angle without a power pole in the way was able to capture the moon, fog and skyline tonight.
