The first and only recorded accident between a car and a submarine. 19 August 1961

A Volvo PV544 car was parked by the telephone exchange building at Fiskaregatan Street, near the South Harbor in Lysekil. The car's driver did not notice that the parking lot was sloped and she did not use a handbrake. Her car began to move downhill towards the sea. After passing by a shipment of barrels of herring, it crossed the Södra-Hamngatan Street and crashed into the bow of the HSwMS Bävern docked at the pier.

As a result of the collision, the front part of the car was crushed, and the submarine's rail was dented. Fortunately no people were hurt and the accident was so surprising Volvo pardoned the driver and used the event as a marketing strategy. The submarine continued its service until 1980. (Wikipedia)

Ich bin echt ratlos was ich zur Bundestagswahl wählen soll. Eigentlich traditioneller Wähler der Grünen, aber ich werde denen nie wieder meine Stimme geben. Bin schwer enttäuscht von denen. Die Linke ist für mich Pro-Hamas und damit unwählbar. BSW und AfD muss ich nicht sonderlich erklären. Die SPD macht das Gegenteil von dem, was sie verspricht. Die CDU wird genau machen was sie verspricht und das ist schrecklich.

Ich fand immer die Partei eine lustige und auch sinnvolle Alternative, hab die auch zur EU-Wahl gewählt, aber mit einer drohenden Koalition aus CDU und AFD ist das IMHO keine Option. Inhaltlich finde ich Volt sehr charmant, aber auch die werden bei 0.x% landen und damit ist die Stimme verschenkt. Wir brauchen halt so viel wie möglich Gegengewicht im Parlament, damit AFD und CDU nicht einfach durchregieren können.

Ich überlege tatsächlich FDP zu wählen...

Und/oder sich bei Volt zu engagieren? Das ändert nichts für die kommende Legislaturperiode und ich fürchte eine national-konservative Koalition wird böse Fakten schaffen, die sich später schwer oder nicht reparieren lassen.

Royal Enfield published a new electric motorcycle, to be precise it's their first and I like the concept and the name: Flying Flea

The name refers to a very light motorcycle for paratroopers in World War 2 Royal Enfield built. It was light, cheap and rugged. They dropped it off aeroplanes on a parashoot. Back in the days it was a manufacturer located in the UK. Today they are located in India and are not related to the big manufacturers like BMW, VAG or PSA.

I think electric motorcycles and even more scooters (no, not this skateboards, I mean real scooters in Vespa-format) are an overlooked part of the future individual mobility.

In rural areas E-bikes are too slow because the distances are too big and some people are have problems riding it, for instance people with asthma. Small cars like the Renault Twizy are great, I drive one, but it can still be smaller. Motorcycles need less resources to build, less energy to drive and are even smaller to park (more or less like a bicycle), but it still gives you the speed of a car.

And it's a ton of fun, too!
