So I watched Wicked and I was… underwhelmed. Cynthia Erivo was fantastic, as was Ariana Grande despite being made up to look like an albino chihuahua. The production design was also wonderful, I would kill for a ride on the beautiful green train that takes them to Oz. The problem was the songs, they were just … meh. At the end of the film the only song I could remember was Defying Gravity and that’s because I’ve heard it so many times elsewhere. #Wicked #Musical

First attempt at a goblet and very pleased with how it turned out. Looks pretty much like the goblet I was imagining as I made it. It’s made of oak. Currently enjoying a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from it. #woodturning #wine

Sometime over the last few years I ended up with no way to play vinyl. Last week I bought an old Cambridge Audio amp from an auction for £10 and some Mordaunt Short speakers on ebay for £20. They sound amazing. Whenever I get a new device capable of playing music the first thing I play is Wuthering Heights. I saw Kate Bush 45 years ago at the Liverpool Empire and it changed my life. Sitting listening to Wuthering Heights still takes me to places that nothing else does. #KateBush #HiFi #vinyl

If you’ve ever fancied giving wood turning a go I can highly recommend it. Two hours this morning passed in the blink of an eye. It is immensely satisfying. These are my first attempts at beads and coves. #woodworking #WoodTurning
