Caya liked the tree so much at Christmas that we got a mini one. Now she can "floss" using the branches.

Laughed at a Cybertruck, which prompted a smile and "Merry Christmas" from a fellow pedestrian, then I high-fived a baby.
How's your Christmas Eve going?

I was in university and grad school for a while. Even got a PhD out of it. I've worked in the tech industry for 15+ years because I needed income and the academic job market was really bad when I finished. So in a way I'm a failed academic.
That said, I consider myself reasonably well educated and in general conversation I have little trouble following along and raising points that people find worth thinking about.
Every time I read about the field of economics that dominates our way of life I have the same thought: how in the fuck is this a legitimate field of study at institutions of higher education.

That Stanford "study" is just this management dream again. (From "The Executive's Guide To Information Technology".)
Also, never mentioned in these "10% attrition" discussions is the possibility that the management is the bottom 10%.
