Busy beavers on Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Day, December 25. Yesterday morning came some snow. Two hours ago, again over by the beaver family. They no doubt have been pushing new engineering tasks since yesterday. You can clearly see the tracks in the snow. Descriptions in alt.text.

Dear new and old followers; (FediFollows has again launched this profile in the woodworking category) - I've taken a break in the workshop. You have to go weeks and months down the posts on my profile to find some woodworking. But rest assured, it will return. This is my very 2024 Christmas card/Christmas stamp. This fellow is not a cozy.

It is called "Tree Killer".

It will become a large butterfly with a wingspan of up to 9cm! Their eggs will prefer damaged or weakened trees. The larvae gnaw around the wood with powerful jaws and can sometimes actually kill the tree they live in. They spend 2-3 years (sometimes up to 5 years) just eating their way through the wood and growing.

Flashback

to mid October on this #SilentSunday in early November.

The magical autumn colors are now gone. Two days ago there was a stronger than usual autumn storm in #Norway, which also cut the power in large parts of #Telemark. I woke up in a house without electricity. Had to find the propane apparatus to get my morning coffee.

Luck - and bad luck in the shop

What is not apparent in the two #photos is that the thick-skinned orange was clearly larger than the thin-skinned one. Still twice as much juice in the thin-skinned one.

Street art at Dyrksku'n

Dyrsku'n is the largest agricultural exhibition in #Norway, held every year in September in #Seljord. 2024 with the usual 90,000 visitors.
