Is #Threads just an economic product #Zuckerberg wants to develop? Or is it rather a political tool to gain power, just as #Twitter was for #Musk, or the #media in France for the French billionaires? (These media lose money, but far-right ideas gain ground).
As for #Facebook, I think we know the answer, Zuck doesn’t even pretend anymore, throwing #TransRights, #moderation and #DEI to the winds. (cf. Cambridge Analytica).

Community notes are very bad, imo:
1 - the users make the work of fact-checking for free. The platform exploits their sense of fairness, in exchange of nothing, to generate profit.
2 - Press entities who used to do it, and have the know-how, already harmed by the big platforms, lose yet another source of revenue, and some journalists find themselves jobless.
3 - nothing guarantees the objectivity of the notes. A rich guy can pay for them, the algorithm boosts opaquely..

Je me souviens d'avoir lu sur des expériences de "UBI", Universal Basic Income, versé inconditionnellement à certains foyers expérimentalement, (en Finlande notamment) et à chaque fois d'après mes souvenirs, il y avait des résultats positifs pour la société globalement, surtout au niveau santé publique (moins de stress).
L'idée avait repris un peu de vigueur au moment de la crise du coronavirus, il me semble.
