Let's say you have 200 random friends in the United States:

• 24 friends would be living in poverty

• 18 wouldn't have health care

• 45 of them would have an untreated mental illness

• 2 of them would have been shot

Apparently, the Republicans think none of these things matter, as they are entirely focused on ruining the life of the ONE of your 200 friends who is trans. Make no mistake: it is bigotry, it is hate, and it boggles my mind.

WordPress, which I've used and recommended countless times over the decades, can no-longer be considered free, open-source software. I will no longer recommend it. This plugin theft is NOT a fork, it's an outright jack. As I’ve become a more and more senior software engineer over my career, I’ve come to realize that the most important thing in my job is to hire well. My second is letting junior engineers laugh at and learn from my mistakes. The third is minimizing technical debt.

GitHub Copilot helps with none of these. When I hear people talk about being “X times more efficient” in their dev jobs because of it, I have to call shenanigans. Show me a peer reviewed study, like this one:
