I'll update OPNsense in a week or two, looks neat.
My OPNsense instance is a VM running on a Proxmox host with ZFS as its storage. I doubt the ZFS support within OPNsense will be applicable, I think it sees a raw block device.
I wouldn't want OPNsense to create a ZFS filesystem using the blocks which reside within the Proxmox ZFS filesystem. That would be confusing.

No, I am receiving this email because the person who keeps using my email address on their accounts never figures out that they don't receive the emails they signed up for.
YOU then send no unsubscribe link because you assert that I am your customer without ever having confirmed the email address during your signup process.

After pausing/resuming almost 30 times, the sync of 260 GBytes has reached 56%. It stalled again a while after I went to sleep and just sat there the rest of the night.
I'm giving up on SyncThing for this. However when I try to unshare the folder the UI just sits there until it reloads, and it fails to remove the folder from its list.

So now I have to do the social media calculation of "risk that someone will decide that I need to be harmed, punished, or somehow made to suffer" versus "willingly silencing myself to avoid saying something which is true."

This must have gotten picked up somewhere that is aiming a death ray at it.

Syncthing appears to send chunks of 16 KBytes, as 11 max sized frames followed by a 544 byte frame. When it stalls, it finishes sending one of those 16K chunks and then just doesn't send anything more.

Usually when I pause/resume in this way, the Syncthing daemon on the Mac dies and is automatically restarted. I see the UI say it has lost contact with the backend, then recovers.
I've found a number of descriptions of similar problems and that pause+resume lets it start making progress, but no permanent solution that I have found.

I am trying to sync 260 GBytes, about 450k files altogether, from a macOS system to Linux. Both are running Syncthing 1.28.1.
While underway it can transfer at about 50 Mbps, but the transfer has repeatedly stalled and sat there transferring no data for several hours. On the originating Mac if I pause the destination Linux machine and then Resume it, the transfer will start making progress again and transfer a few more gigabytes before stalling.

I've used Google Blogger forever. I haven't looked at the template for some time.
I don't want the Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest share buttons any more. I do want Bluesky and Mastodon share buttons. It doesn't look easy to do this.
Google doesn't appear to be working on Blogger any more. Promotion-Driven-Development means a product that can't get someone to L7 will not be worked on further.
I think it might be easier to move the whole blog than try to make Blogger do what I want.

Ok, got the whole fam set up to use Signal. We have individual 1:1 chats initiated, plus a family group.
It was easy. I'd gotten the impression that Signal was hard to use, but the family are all fine with it.
We'll try a video call soon, eldest sprog is back to college until XMas break.

@danderson I'm seeking an offsite backup option for the ZFS filesystem holding our photos, NextCloud, etc.
I believe you used rsync.net at one time, do you still? Can you share experiences with it?

What am I up to today?
Oh, you know, the usual: writing to newspaper columnists about foreign driver's license reciprocity with the state of California.
Unfortunately I just learned that the state politician I am most trying to reach held a constituent town hall near me two weeks ago, and has no more scheduled for months.
Oh well, opportunity missed. I'll try some other way.

I guess I'm in the market for a gaming laptop for Mister 15 #2. His 2023 ASUS TUFbook turned out to not be tuf enough: the screen doesn't light up at all not even at UEFI. Similar reports abound over the last couple years, with no solution offered.
So:
I'm polling https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-cheap-gaming-laptops and the $879 MSI Katana A15 looks reasonable so far.
