Thankful for those that have fought for better voting rights in Washington state. First time voters have until 8 days before the election to register. Updates to registrations valid up till the day of.

And if my ballot doesn’t show up in the mail 18 days before, I can print one or go to a voting center.

Haven’t stood out a long line to vote in over 12 years now, and also have been able to participate in each minor one. We need to push for this in every state.

I ferried what built up to 750gb of raw footage initially on multiple 2.5inch drives during the trip. I was hoping at least one drive would survive the rough 2 months on the road, and both did.

The videos moved between several systems since, and I slowly made some content from it here and there. I’m free of the self imposed burden to do more with all those files, but the loss still hurts a bit.

Well damn. Though a drive that died back on the 2nd only housed backup files. Turns out my only copy of the full 2012 motorcycle trip GoPro videos were on there. I did find Final Cut proxies of them all, but the original quality source is just gone.

When I deduped other source copies, I didn’t realize I went one too far and also zapped the location that gets sent to the cloud backup. Also skipped data recovery under warranty because “it’s just a backup drive”. 🤦

Had to dig the empegs out of the closet today after the earlier boost.

Still boots, now to find a switch that still handles 10mbit Ethernet. This one I upgraded to 2 32GB CF cards back in 2011 but never put music back on it. Rio remote battery still has juice after all this time.

Feeling it’s time to bring back my old music collection habits back. The MP3 files are sitting there from all the old CDs still, along with various digital albums I bought.

Frustrations with streaming music has me not listening to much, whereas I listened to a ton back when I was curating my empeg and tuning into small shoutcast streams.
