"A treasure trove of over 2,500 original but anonymous photographs of the San Francisco scene from August, 1967 to 1979 was recently discovered - in one of the pictures, poster artist Stanley Mouse has been identified as a casual passerby in the crowd - see photo below. There are 75 rolls of film still to develop, and a kickstarter project is underway to do this and to hopefully identify the photographer. A book and documentary are planned. Anyone who donates even as little as $10 can help identify people in the pictures. They still have a way to go to reach their financial goal. Here is the link to the project description on Youtube."

Taking a slightly closer look at who is in your IG feed.

"Meta’s various sites have over 3 billion users, an incredible percentage of the world’s population. But businesses demand constant growth and, not content with almost half of the living people on the planet, Meta has decided to cut out the middle-man. It is flooding Facebook and Instagram with AI-generated posters of its own creation."

“We expect these AIs to actually, over time, exist on our platforms, kind of in the same way that accounts do,” Connor Hayes, vice president of generative AI at Meta, told [FT]. “They’ll have bios and profile pictures and be able to generate and share content powered by AI on the platform . . . that’s where we see all of this going."

Soon people discovered that Meta’s ghoulish posters had been among us for months, even years.

(me) So..... that means all those carefully crafted posts youre making on IG about whatever it is you care about or are doing are being consumed/interacted with by .... deadeyed zombies.

There are warnings of gales

Depending on where you are in relation to the steep white cliffs or the brown dirt hillsides

Depending on the lush green valleys filled with cows and sheep and goats and pigs

Looking out across the wheat fields in the late summer filled with the sway of the long stemmed grasses wishing they were oceans free of human intent for their impending death

Somewhere out in the world

There are warnings of gales

Inner turmoils or extra terrestrial battles

Or arguments in the corner shop over who could have the last packet of plain chocolate digestives

It is all relevant. Everything has its own equivalency. Each strike of potential catastrophe is equivalent to the next.

I recall the storm of 1987, which I slept through like a soft baby in a warm blanket. My mother called the following morning and I had no idea what she was talking about. The gales had swirled around me and might have caused total destruction, yet, I was safe in my swaddling clothes of care and love and a good bedsitter in Earls Court.

But, be aware of warnings of gales. In the end they will get us all.
