Read out the full text of this screen shot (from Stephen Thrower's Fulci book) the next time someone sniggers about the dubbing in Italian films. Sorry it's too long to alt text. It continues even stronger saying that popular preferences are only for a realistic -illusion- of naturalistic dialog since most US films include a heavy use of dubbing and that more documentary sound is every bit as offputting to audiences as a primitive dub. (Beyond Terror p. 202-203)

Phishing question: I made 8 separate, identical sales on my website. It was the lowest priced item. The customer emails and phone numbers are all clearly auto generated. I received propay payment notifications for all. What's the scam? Some kind of elaborate credt charge back I'm guessing? #phishing #cybersecurity #ccfraud #creditfraud

Holy shit but see #TheSubstance in the theater if you can. It's Sunset Blvd sewn to Basket Case. Best movie experience this year. #HorrorCommunity #horrorfam.

Why I love 4K. Perfect freeze frame. Pausing and reading Anne Wilkes' Misery scrapbook and you can see the text loops so that wherever your eyes settle, you get the gist of it. I also froze the regional airport scene in Dawn of the Dead and read the missing persons posters and looked at all the D&D stuff in the game shop in Cloak and Dagger. It makes me feel like Deckard in Bladerunner when he looks around a corner in a photo.

My world-ending build in Luck Be a Landlord (the same day I deleted it forever to save my sanity at 14mil points). I read that it was inspiration for Balatro and it definitely scratches the same itch. Unfortunately endless mode is truly endless. #Balatro #roguelike #videogames

Quiet Place: Day one just landed on Paramount+ and it's as good as I'd heard (even tho the series is meh imo). It's more concerned with character work than out and out horror but NY chaos is well done and realistic looking. It mostly only shows pieces of the aliens (who feel like rabid horses in this). Same director as Nic Cage vehicle Pig which--had I known--would have motivated me to get to the theater.

listened to @flophousepodcast interview with writer/director Tom Holland and learned that Cloak & Dagger was a rewrite of his Fright Night idea because the studio (Universal!) wasn't into vampires at the moment. Mind blown.

This error in the bio of Suzi Quatro in the book She-Bop a history of women in rock sent me into a great alternate universe. #texaschainsawmassacre #Horror #HorrorFam
