Still thinking about the maniac who was flashing his Dodge Ram's high beams at me, for the offense of stopping at a red light. The audacity of me, I know.
Like him, I was preparing to turn right, and I don't live in Montreal so it's legal if safe to do so, but given the stream of cars crossing the intersection at high speed, it was anything but safe.
The lunatic was ready to drive around me to force his way into the intersection when I got a decent gap in cross traffic and tore away from him and his lunacy.
Of course he jetted onto the main road and I quickly merged a few lanes away from him. I could see him yelling at me in a frothy rage.
Fortunately my next intersection was a left hand turn, whereas he had to turn right again. And once again Mr #RoadRage got worked up into a lather because the driver in front of him was doing the same thing as me: patiently waiting for a gap in cross traffic before turning.
The only saving grace I suppose is it instantly showed me that this was nothing personal. Everyone and anyone on the road was an obstacle to his manic driving.
There was some stat about Dodge Ram drivers having an absolutely awful association with substance abuse and presumably anger management issues. And it shows.

So an Irving Oil gas station in New Brunswick spilled an indeterminate amount of diesel leading to a shut down of both the station and the neighbouring Tim Hortons ... But since Irving kind of owns the province the government is rather tight lipped about it and the company itself refused to answer any questions from CBC reporters

I just remembered I left the child locks activated on the rental car I returned last week.
Surely this won't lead to any comedy for future renters with adults in the back.

Kind of neat that VIA Rail has made it easy to track where your train, or any train, is currently located and how fast it's moving.
Example:
https://tsimobile.viarail.ca/index.html#79
Too bad they can't leverage this cleverness into avoiding stupid delays like "we can't enter the station because there's another train still there."
You have more than one track at most of these stations!
I know it's not that simple, but wow, a one hour delay on a 5 hour scheduled rise is a bit wild and affirms some of the commentary I've read and watched from @notjustbikes

My current phone is a little over 3 years old, and has been running smoothly
So of course this week it decided that it's time for the battery to start falling off a cliff in terms of "how fast I lose charge."
From past experience I'm gonna be shopping for a new handheld in 2025.
Or replacing the battery, which I wish wasn't as much of a hassle to do.

@googlepixel and sorry Lemmy account I know you're not actually Google but then, I didn't want to press backup either. I'm wildly mashing buttons today.

Whoever decided to use dark patterns at @googlepixel to trick users into activating backup on photos while just trying to browse their Pixel just added to my chaos pile today.
Oh, yeah, I turned off the backup feature a year ago when I decided to go crazy with videos and one little push of the backup button would shut down my quota instantly.
Hand phone to child to view photos. Miss them hitting the backup all button. Quota destroyed.

So a certain corporation changed its login system.
The password entry is so finicky that typing in the numbers in your password will not work if you use your numpad to enter them instead of the numbers at the top of the keyboard.
TIL they have different codes in the back end. I guess the designers of the login system just learned that too judging from the explosion in help desk calls!

I wonder if the #BlackFriday silliness has infiltrated any parts of #Europe
It shouldn't in my mind, but weird American stuff seeps out from time to time so it made me wonder.

Wish @LRRRonEarth would lend me that cannon.

Today is Toronto's Santa Claus parade and I have a very particular concern - the transit and road closure list doesn't mention what's going on with the #TTC 510 Spadina route.
The parade literally cuts through the route's access to Spadina subway station. This wouldn't be an issue of the streetcar service was operational but they're running a bus diversion which, I thought, goes across Bloor which is the parade route.
Will they be pausing floats to let buses dart across? This seems to be the inferred outcome given the route isn't mentioned at all in the service and traffic updates.

Maybe not all of us can agree on paper straws being the worst, but #PaperStraws really are trash and an attack on disabled people
And all people actually, if the forever chemicals are indeed as bad as they say.

Going to vent a little: my friend complained that his family is avoiding him.
Friend also criticized everything in their family home, from the choice of bathroom fan to toilet seat in a newly renovated room.
Maybe try not being a jerk and then people will avoid you less?
