I was the ear this morning for one of our safety officers to lament some of our pipe workers not taking trench safety planning and procedures seriously.

I told her her cause is just. Pipe workers can be stubborn. Ours are almost all men. And many are not enthusiastic about following direction from young women.

TIL about Ron Simons because he was in a list of theater people who passed this year.

He had always wanted to act and do theater and film. The first part of his professional life was a career arc as a Columbia Biz School MBA at Microsoft. He did it to support his family.

He left at 41 when he felt like everyone would be okay. He got an MFA from UW and spent the rest of his life acting in and producing successful films and theater shows.
