So despite a bad knee, a dodgy stomach and some consistent poor nights, I had a mild spinning session. Even at a low difficulty level it provided challenging.

Hammerfall kept me company with one of their earlier offerings. I’ve seen them live a few times and they have never disappointed.

Definitely a day for spinning in the garage by way of exercise today.

Upped the resistance a notch, to make it easier to maintain a smooth peddling rhythm but mainly to keep warm.

Definitely under dressed even so.

To help maintain a decent cadence, Flogging Molly was the musical accompaniment. Just what you need on a cold January day.

Given how cold it is outside today, today’s exercise was back in the warm garage, on the static bike.

I made the mistake of listening to Crystal Viper. The beat is way too quick. I’m exhausted trying to keep pace.

I love Crystal Viper. They have a very happy, bouncy sound.

This was a free download (remember them) way back 2009 ish.

An absolute banging tune. It epitomises synth pop in a single song.

I came across it again when I was looking through my iPod and have given it a hammering since.

On this snowy morning, the exercise was accompanied by Judas Priest.

The pace is not too fast when you are on the static bike. So no frantic spinning.

So the first exercise session of the year. It’s supposed to be every day in January, but life got in the way.

I listened to Upstairs At Eric’s by Yazoo. A recent charity shop purchase that I hadn’t got around to playing. I’ve never heard the album before, though I have of course heard the two singles from it.

The album is an eclectic mix, but enjoyable. It will stand further plays.

The exercise was a spell on the static cycle, to avoid the cold outside.

Last few days before it’s back to the grind and the long slog to Easter. I am, rarely, on my own for a little while, so chance to properly listen to my recent charity shop purchases.

Starting with Gary Moore. A superb album by who seems to be a totally underrated musician. Blues and (proper) RnB of the highest order.

I had previously only heard the title track in single version and I was blown away with the version on the album.
