Oh! Hi there!

Too bad I couldn’t get a better picture of the interior.

I wonder if it is the new Corolla under all that camouflage!

Morgan is so quaint.

Using the time travel feature of Google Maps, I found out that some old Detroit steel sat decaying in front of what is now my garage for many, many years.

First… what a shame!

Second. Anybody can help with identifying it? I thought it was a Vega, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Some Ford perhaps?

It seems that the cost for shipping the BMW i3 to Spain is around $2,500. EVs are more expensive because… batteries are scary.

Then getting all charging adapters would be another $600 or so.

Adding a rear fog light, required in Europe, is surprisingly easy, about $75 for a new switch plus some coding.

The biggest hurdle might turn out to be the tree amigos pictured below…

Spain is fixated with lights, and those might not be allowed. Replacing the headlights would be absurdly expensive.

It seems that the main required changes to legally drive a US car in Spain are about headlights and taillights, which with the BMW i3 might be addressed mostly by software coding.

There is only one tiny issue: EV chargers in Europe use a different plug…

Figuring how to square that circle will turn out to be the hardest part.

Very close to embarking in either the dumbest or the most genius endeavor: relocating my BMW i3 REX to Europe.

Stay tuned…

In case anybody is considering installing #Tesla solar panels.

One of the panels in my system stopped working in May.

It took until August to convince them to send a technician to check it out.

The replacement part is still pending, not even a suggested date for the repair.

Look! Is it a new Corolla? A new Rio? A new Cruze?

Nope, it is the new BMW 2 Series.

Great that they are still doing sedans but… would it kill them to try a bit harder?

Ok, it seems that The Autopian god duped and it is a fake. That makes more sense (slightly).

So this is what the Cybercab looks like? For real?

Either it is made out of pure rubber or it is the most unfinished prototype I have ever seen by an established manufacturer.

Random question for the European crowd.

In the US, if you just want a solid, reliable car that takes you from point A to point B with no drama, and that will outlast the heat death of the universe, you buy a Toyota Camry.

What would be the equivalent in Europe?

To sume up the article in a succinct way: because most major automakers are just conceding the #EV market.

One thing that does not get mentioned enough: the inside of the Chrysler Airflow was as ahead of its time as the outside.
