So I’m lying on the floor trying to read my book and the #BorderCollie decides it’s game time. he nudges the ball with his nose and it takes one bounce on the floor and lands on my chest. I return it to him. Over and over again. Nose. To floor. To chest. Back to dog.

Milo, the #BorderCollie, has learned to jump up on the large round bales in the neighbor's field.

He runs the length of the bales hunting for voles and mice. Plus, he's a collie, so he just loves new things to learn.

What good are #Books ?

Their 'stories in ink and blood' 'telling of fallen tyrants' might just be what you need today. A heart may find refuge, a way may open.

"You have been welcomed in

to books that smell like ancient trees,

standing here with broken spines,

opening like thoughts set free

and as the pages turn, your breath

quickens with something you always knew

in your blood like remembered faith.

When you open the book, it opens you."

I’ve felt this, too, living on the cusp of a different world, one foot in the memories of the old, the other in fears of the new.

Woodstove fire #abstract photos

[#]fire

[#]Photography

Just playing around with longer exposures and tapping my phone with one hand while taking the photo. I'm sort of fascinated by the flowing flame, as you can see. :)

A highly recommended way to spend pre-dawn winter mornings, in the dark next to the woodstove with a cup of coffee and a dog (or two.)
