the coach of the national team wants some of us at AAU to cook up a semi self-organized attack-defense ctf for next year. Very few of us (new bachelors and masters students) actually have AD experience and little organizing experience, but through the power of open source (stealing/forking prior art) we maybe might be able to make it happen?

the danish parliament is trying to make it illegal for individuals to fly or hang flags that are not the danish flag itself. The target is explicitly palestinian flags in public spaces, and may also make unapproved pride flags outlawed.

There’s a lot of talk out there about how playing Factorio is problematic because the studio founder said problematic things on reddit. Or at least that supporting the studio is then problematic. I wonder if the narratives of “oops gotta expand” present in the games like it are not a way bigger issue, similar to how true-crime and reality TV makes us fearful and judgemental of strangers.

been thinking a lot about media depictions lately. Some say there is no such thing as an anti-war film (stories about war heroes promotes war even if those heroes suffered), and there’s been a lot of discourse online on how satirically evil characters get positively characterized by certain fanbases (supervillains etc), but in these discussions its like the observer is seperate from the conversation they are presenting. What if playing a game about colonization is not good for me?
