I'm replacing some stale programming homework problems. Many of them explain a series of rules (about music notation, for example), and ask students to write functions that model them.

I might make civics concepts the NEW subject matter. Example: progressive income tax. What else should I include?

I'll likely be in Europe for a conf in late May 2025, and I've applied to another in early June.

To control carbon footprint, I consolidate trips to Europe. Is there a conf I should hit, or a workshop you'd like, while I'm there? May preferred, to be back in Chi before mid-June.
