It’s too soon. Two weeks ago I fell victim to the Norovirus. Took me out for nearly a week. Last week I was fine. Today I’m hit with at least a bad head cold, or perhaps even a respiratory bug. Either way, it’s just too soon for me to be sick again.

When I was a kid, my family took a trip to Tokyo, and on the way back home, we watched the sun rise from 35K feet in the air. I will never forget that thin strip of faint light on the slightly-curved horizon that transformed into a wider strip showing all the colors of the spectrum—amazingly vivid and clearly defined, and held there for just a hair longer than expected before going full white. This captures that in reverse, and I am grateful to be able to see it again.

A few minutes ago I had the misfortune of hitting my head on the bottom of a closet shelf. Didn’t hit particularly hard, but hard enough to feel like it reactivated a small part of my concussion from two years ago.
Complicating things is that my blood sugar is lower than normal. Still in the acceptable range, but it’s nigh impossible to tell if it’s that or the skull thud that’s making me feel off. Or are they joining forces to make things even more interesting?
Just gonna sit and relax now.

Finally watched “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” yesterday. Yeah, there was a lot of fan service and recycling of things from the first film, but I still enjoyed it on its own merits. Good, fun script and really fun characters and performances. Got a little weird (and slightly maudlin) at the end, but I get it. And in the context of the film and its subject matter, it worked. Now I need to see Frozen Kingdom.

I never owned an iPad Mini before tonight, when I scored a gen 4 Mini. I can't explain it, but I'm finding that form factor to be pretty amazing so far. My daily driver is an OG iPad Pro 13” which my old eyes appreciate, but there's something about the Mini's small screen and ridiculously light weight that I find awfully compelling—even more than a standard iPad. We'll see just how useful it is in the coming days and weeks, but right now I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I might!
