On my Munich flight, watched "Tuesday”. Heck of a concept and Julia-Louis Dreyfus nailed her role. Tear-jerker.

Masculine Energy. Founder Mode. Techno-Optimist Manifesto. To quote the great philosopher George W. Bush: "That's some weird shit.”

One thing I don't see out here in Python fediland…any discussion whatsoever about free-threaded Python.

And I'm wondering: maybe that’s a good thing? Maybe it just needs quiet time, bake a little, libraries go at their own pace?

Summoning my graybeards @chrism and @tseaver for wisdom.

Sometimes it's the little things in life that spark joy.

For a hundred years, I've had a Scarlett 2i2 XL audio box thingy. Every time I connect my laptop, I have to press the 48v phantom power button. I usually don't, and people can't hear me.

There's a knob for that. Even better, the tiny Focusrite Mac app was...tiny. 12Mb download. Worked the first time. OMG, happy happy, joy joy.

How did I not know that Chris Jewell has a version of markdown-it-py (parser under MyST) with a Rust extension that's crazy fast. https://markdown-it-py.readthedocs.io/en/latest/performance.html#performance

This roundup by @simon was a fantastic read. Foremost: very human. It felt like I was in the room listening to him.

Also: Simon has a viewpoint, adds value through interpretation, highly-talented, has no agenda, making him the perfect person to outsource my thinking to. 😉

Finally: a really convenient, concise roundup, with lots of links, some which I followed. I particularly enjoyed the inline audio files of a pelican, with a thick Russian accent, speaking Spanish.

How are people feeling about the coming #searchapocalypse ? This "SEO is Dead" video does a good job of framing the issue. Solutions: 1) Take back control. 2) Build your own audience. 3) Get good at outbound marketing. 4) Spread your bets across channels/platforms (including your own.) 5) Own your relationships.

I'm a veteran. I don't stand up for applause at ball games. I get the creeps when hearing "Thank you for your service."

Why? Because I didn’t do jack shit. Want to thank somebody? Save it for an undercover narcotics officer. Or something really scary, like a high school teacher.

Also, while "thanks" is sweet and all, the average E3 family living below the poverty line would likely want something more...depositable.
