Holy Smokes. Slap Shot was released 48 years ago. A satire still beloved by pro hockey players. Also, it predicted NHL expansion to Sun Belt markets (i can't help but regard as an abomination).

Lemme just say...how much I appreciate even the most passing "Like" toot, nod, or What-Have-You to my random nature photos, ruminations and such. It's kind of nice to know there are shared sensibilities. Might be even what keeps us sane, and helps us get through the #Mishigas that's looming.

Cool, thanks for relaying that! This variety seems ubiquitous in #NorthernCalifornia. From my patio, there's a mature, vary tall specimen visible about 100 meters to the west. I am entranced in the late afternoon by the luminous white trunk & branches, and by the shimmering of its leaves in the breeze. It transports me to when I was a kid, living on the campus of #UCIrvine in #1968 when my dad was in graduate school.

A friend came by to drop off these #Camelia flower cuttings from her yard. BTW the grounds of the #California Capitol in #Sacramento are peppered with Camelias and other iconic perennials...all in a riot of flowering this time of year. #Citrus too! #BloomScrolling

I'm pretty sure they don't have snow plows in #Houston. When I was a school kid in Northern Virginia, #Fairfax County seemed to have a bare minimum fleet of snow plows. Back then, there weren't the expressways and such like they nowadays. There were mostly hilly winding narrow country roads. It didn't take much snow for things to grind to a halt: I had lots of #SnowDays lol
