I’m going to listen to Burna Boy sing Common Person and pretend I’m walking down Alexander St. in Kitty, and the song is blaring from some corner shop.

How did we get to this point where creatives actually say Al & chatgpt can play a good role...? Seriously, how?
The #writers who created brilliant works must be either weeping or laughing at us.

Hellooo! I thought you might want to have fun looking at ordinary objects around you, and making up stuff about them. It's one of the best ways to unwind and beat the bad news blues!
Here's what l've been #writing about seeing things differently:

I'm busy indoors doing the usual chores but my mind is outdoors where the wind blows softly.
I hope you love this verse as much as I do. It's an excerpt from the #poem Amalivaca, by A. J. Seymour, one of Guyana's finest poets. Click here to learn more: https://www.instagram.com/p/DCrddiUONBt/?igsh=NXI5c2xndDRxZTl0
Whenever I read this, I feel free.
Have a lovely Friday.

“Aaaaahhhhh!! Finally!”
Euphoria. “Oooh, I’m so clevahhh.”
Ha! That’s the feeling I get when I figure out a sentence, a phrase, that’s been puzzling me for ages.
That’s why I don’t like when #writers explain every single thing.

I’ve been writing:
Ahead, north, where the trees grow close together, branches pushing upward instead of out and wide, somewhere nearby or a little farther, the languid brown Atlantic sways. Me is curious cat, me love to stray but there ain’t no way we gon try to reach there, I know for sure, night gon squeeze we tight-tight in she shawl.

[#]WritersCoffeeClub 3. Oct. Do you agree with Isaac Bashevis: "A good writer is basically a storyteller, not a scholar or a redeemer of mankind."
I think what he means is that a good writer should concentrate on telling the story. Forget about preaching, teaching, pontificating, and about redeeming mankind.
(The reader will learn from it what s/he is supposed to learn.)
Do I agree? Speaking as a reader: I tend to gag when writers start pushing, repeating the point they’re trying to make.

I don’t know if I should say this here…I’ve just dug up 3 worms and put them in an uncovered bottle with banana skin. I want to see if the worms will feast on the skin, grow fat, multiply.
I don’t think I should keep them in the bedroom though so I left them in the garden.

[#]WritersCoffeeClub Oct 1: What makes your WIP (or most recent work) stand out from the crowd?
It’s off the beaten track, on the tip of South America where the people speak English and Creolese.
It’s humour, musings, stories, conversations, people from all ethnic groups and status in life hanging out together.
It’s magical realism which, unlike made up magical realism in most books, actually is a part of real life.

Famous(?) media lady on YouTube, #candaceowens says she never knew “English Creole” was a language that was native to Jamaica.

“Every home should have #books, my friend. Every home. That is my dream. I want to see books marching, huff-puff, hurray-hurrah, into homes and community centres throughout my lovely native land…all kinds of books, story books, poetry, biographies, philosophy, history, theology, travel and thoughts. I want to see the people reading sideways, upside down, on stairways, top of arch ways, in queues, out of cue, sitting, standing, anywhere, or waiting for the bus.”
