This farmer is more evil than you may first think. He's right when he says the chances of them deporting farm workers in places like South Dakota is extremely low. However, what WILL happen as a result of the immigration crackdown, is farm workers will be even more vulnerable to threats of deportation and migration enforcement, which will make it substantially easier to exploit their labour. See, nationwide, undocumented migrant workers have been engaged in various campaigns to get some basic worker rights - clear schedules, safe houses, access to transportation, fair wages. This is going to function really great to crush those labour demands, and facilitate the extraction of value from the workers. If there is deportation of workers, I'll be extremely surprised.
