When IT troubleshooting skills meet hardware hacking skills meet home appliance repair, you end up with $40 on replacement board components, 3 hours of research, 8 hours of physical troubleshooting, 4 hours with the old man probing said board at the component level to make a janky schematic, 10 hours of imposter syndrome, 5 days waiting for items to ship literally from the other side of the country, janky things with mains voltage...

All leading to this: a 10K resistor out of an arduino learning kit in a wiring harness to emulate a (now confirmed) busted sensor to confirm that said sensor was the cluprit.

Was it worth it? #hellyes Paying some guy $120/hour doesn't give you this sort of high that can last you a lifetime.

Even though today is the last possible day for bleptember, my boy is not doofy enough to blep... In my few years of cat cohabitation, I have yet to see a blep. So for this #caturday please enjoy a cat on a mat. #catsofmastodon

Got myself a piece of Chineseium Networkium. XikeStor multigigabit managed switch.

While not my first managed switch, this will be my first managed switch I will put into my home production, and my first multi-gig switch.

Reviews eventually, as well as thoughts. The price was compelling at about $70 USD.

Happy Fathers Day to me, a cat dad. This loveable ball of floof came along when the Cat Distribution System graced me with a visit a few years ago. He's my constant source of love and stress, and I enjoy how we continue to evolve and learn from each other.

He can't do much to celebrate me, so we might as well celebrate him for a short swipe or like on your feed. #caturday #fathersday

Somebody came home this afternoon smelling like sweet syrup. Since cats should smell on the spectrum between dirt and cat, this was outside of established norms and since we live in suburbia, I concluded that he rolled around in some engine coolant.

Instant bath for you, Mr. Cat.

He's so wonderfully tolerant of the process, except the blow dryer. He makes sure you know he doesn't like it.

Luckily, no injuries to the groomer.

Shout out to Vanessa who runs Girl With The Dogs grooming/YouTube channel for sharing hours of animal bathing and grooming videos and explainers. While my boy is not too fussy, I was able to confidently give him a much needed spot bath without being torn to shreds after watching hours of cat baths and grooms.

This would be his second bath under my care. I'm still slowly introducing him to the concept and I believe I've found some of his "don't wanna" just from those two sessions.

A marked improvement, I say comparing the before and after.

As somebody who went in an extended road trip with a four legged companion, I seriously appreciated the care and attention Love's truck stops has for everybody on the road by providing doggy parks at quite a few of their locations.

I'm now more curious about truck stop business models
