Second iteration of the EndBASIC dev box prototype 😎. Much faster boot times now (but not yet fast enough), all thanks to skipping X and Wayland altogether! Graphics performance needs improvement and the code is, well, just a mess at this point… but still 😊

I wrote something about code density and how 64-bit pointers would bloat code, but then was surprised to see that x86-64 code tends to be smaller than its i386 counterpart. So I had to dig for details and find answers. Here, the story. https://blogsystem5.substack.com/p/x86-64-programming-models
