The good news of the week:

1. Some of these orders will be overturned by the courts.

2. Some of these orders can be overturned by Congress if they prove disastrous.

3. All of the orders can be overturned by the next president.

4. If the Silk Road pardon is any indication of Trump's hold on reality, 2026 maybe a near extinction for the Republican Party.

To commemorate breaking the 1.5C climate change barrier, I think we should name it after one of the asshole #climatechange deniers that made this year possible. I'm nominating David Koch.

The 2024, David Koch, 1.5C average temperature increase to create climate disasters which he won't see because he's dead and buried. It really rolls off the tongue.

I'm a pudgy white guy with a US uni degree and I had a hard time landing my first job in Canada. It was a year of waiting and then a year of contracts, part time side hustles etc.

This is a great article that shows what life is like for immigrants, even the educated and successful. This guy gave up a VP position in Saudi Arabia to, eventually, direct pedestrians to subway cars in Toronto. He scrapes by after investing his Saudi wealth into Toronto real estate, because he can't find a job.

When I think of it, there are #Trump s around the world. There is nothing uniquely #American about him or his politics. #jimmycarter though...I can't think of another politician or humanitarian like him, other than other Americans who humbly volunteer to try to help people. I think he is a distinctly American person.
