Getting a bit tired of being the full day doorman for our 3 cats, so I’m planning to get a microchip filtering pet door, and would love some advice and recommendations. One potential weakness I can imagine is that some hostile cat in the neighborhood might ride the coattails of the cat it’s chasing and could get inside when no one is at home.

Just opened the door for the fifteenth time right now.

Thai nicknames are weird.

Newborn kids get a proper name for papers etc, and then parents give them a nickname which is the name they will be known by.

A little boy in my daughter’s Taekwondo class is nicknamed “piglet”, but instead of the Thai word, it’s a phonetic version of the English word : พิกเล็ท. #thailand

My mum-in-law is bedridden for nearly a week now from flu-B.

You might be strong enough to shake it off after a few days, but many aren’t.

Getting a vaccine helps protect other people too, even if your fine.

And get an updated Covid booster while you’re at it. Wear a mask in crowded places.

Also, if an anti-masker yells at you, don’t cough in their face. It’s probably a nice family’s crazy uncle who’ll infect them all.

I see a lot of people have “posts older than 2 months auto deleted “ in their profile, but I’m not able to find that setting anywhere. Not in my client apps, nor in the web interface. Is this a server specific option

Lately I’ve seen a rise in the use of “reaction-GIFs” on Mastodon, and while it’s nowhere as bad as on other platforms, the option to mute all posts/replies that have no other content would be very welcome.
