Saturn is the brightest 'star' in the upper left portion of the frame.
Top center of the frame is the star Ο Aquarii.
A few other stars of Aquarius are visible, including some that are very close to the moon's disk.

The day after cataract surgery, I had a follow up exam.
As is typical, the surgery eye has milky/cloudy vision. The amount of cloudiness is reducing by the hour, and the eye doctor said it should clear up in several days.
The good news is that even with this cloudiness, which significantly reduces contrast...that eye easily tested 20/20!
My eye pressure is a bit high, so they gave me eye drops that are supposed to reduce internal pressure. The eye doctor didn't seem concerned and this is not delaying surgery for the other eye next week.
Why am I wearing an eye patch? Because of my thick lens on one eye...the world looks smaller. The surgery eye sees the correct/full size world. If I use both eyes, it's a mess for my brain to try and combine different size images. The eye patch allows both eyes to be open, which is less stressful.

It's not pretty, but cataract surgery on my right eye is a step in the right direction...assuming I heal with no complications.
I wear thick glasses, but one eye now has normal distance vision. I removed that spectacle lens.
My glasses now sit lopsided on my nose. I'll figure out a fix.
Soon, the clear plastic 'eye bump shield' will be removed. They my glasses will fit much better.
I'll get surgery on the other eye soon.
Recovery will take at least a week, and vision may take a month or more to stabilize.
I keep my surgery eye closed most of the time for now, but when I was driven home I was able to read car license plates with the surgery eye...even though I was looking through the plastic shield and dark glasses. Amazing!
I have worn thick glasses for over a half-century. I am cautiously optimistic that this procedure will, in some ways, turn back the clock on my vision.

Update on the SP80 high speed foiling boat project.
They are altering the shape of the boat's floats to improve things in the low speed regime where the boat transitions from displacement, to planing, to foiling.

There are similar themes and approaches in Doechii's "Boom Bap", and Marina Satti's "Tucutum".
Both are, in their own way, critical of their respective music culture's mainstream. (Additionally, Marina points out toxic male culture.)
But they are not just critical, they offer positive ideas and viewpoints as a way out of their negative situations. (Doechii: "I'm everything!" Marina Satti: her very different interlude with minimal accompaniment.)

The air mass over southern New Mexico right now is very, very dry.
Alamogordo airport is reporting a dewpoint of 0F at 4,200 feet elevation.
Our neighborhood weather station is reporting -21F dewpoint at 9,440ft. (Even if that reading is incorrect by some amount, it's very dry air up here.)

The wing now has two coats of dark gray primer along the leading edge to seal all the bubbles from the epoxy/microsphere filler. (Applied with a brush, not sprayed.)
Tomorrow I will start sanding it smooth. If there are enough unfilled bubbles, I'll mix another batch and use a Q-tip for spot repairs.
Now it's time for a shower.

The comet really isn't getting any higher in the northern hemisphere and it's getting fainter. It will now put on its best show in the southern hemisphere...but not for long.

First photo is the comet as first seen in very bright twilight. 200mm lens, fixed tripod.
Second photo is about seven minutes later, just before it set behind cirrus and trees. 400mm lens.
Third photo is another three minutes later. The comet is gone.
Or is it?
Fourth photo is the third photo, but processed to flatten the sky gradient, converted to grayscale, and a very aggressive contrast boost. Traces of the tail can be seen below the band of cirrus clouds. Perhaps even some faint traces above the band of cirrus?

At the time of this photo, the sun was about 6 degrees below the horizon (very bright twilight!) and the comet was about 1 to 2 degrees above the horizon.
The second image is a 3x crop of the first.
I never saw the comet with my eyes. I was pointing the camera blind. First image is the complete frame of an APS-C camera and 200mm lens.
