[#]AdventOfCode is on my personal TO-DON'T list for 2024. As much as I love it, I get too sucked in. I have so many other projects that I've started this year. I've promised myself (and @tanho ) that I won't participate in AoC until/unless I've wrapped up all those.
Also, this way, I'll enjoy much more time with my family over the holidays!

What’s best practice with {testthat} for testing an #RStats function that relies on the current date? e.g.
days_from_today <- function(date) {
as.numeric(as.Date(date) - Sys.Date())
}

Spent more time today than I care to admit debugging a Shiny app that wasn’t rendering a text output, only to realise that the text was rendering fine, but I had some CSS setting it white, against a white background 🤦♀️

I’m wanting to write a #Shiny for #Python app in #positron. Is it best practice to use a Python project for this, or is a workspace sufficient?

{aperol} v0.2.0 released, thanks to an epic contribution from @collinschwantes. He’s added a function, aperol::spritz()
, which is a wrapper to any other function (by default devtools::check()
) which counts how many times you call it, and offers increasingly garbled praise, the more often you do so in a given time-frame.
