ah, not all is lost after all. managed to gain some improvements there, now the stitched image does not look like ass due to accumulated errors when assigning positions. in fact, it looks quite good even without optimization on a whopping 4300+ tiles stitch, though minor errors are present closer to the centre. I'll call this good enough for tonight.

in absolutely unrelated news, I finally got my D12 assembled and filled. It only needs a wing before I can dive it.

incidentally, if anyone here in the EU is looking to sell their Halcyon 40lb wing, I am all ears.

Interesting to see how the designers adjusted bipolar transistor characteristics by effectively putting multiple in parallel? instead of changing the geometry. I wonder why.

And in the middle of the chip sits the limiter+detector+RSSI combo.

I struggled to figure out which pins correspond to which pads on the left there, as there are 5 pads and 4 of them are clearly bonded out but only 3 pins on the device are allocated for the limiter.

Note the large chunk of uncommitted devices beneath a metal pour. I wonder what this was to be used for?
