And when it comes to potential firmware mods, this is what the company folks say on Twitter.
So, we'll see how it goes.

New #Quansheng announced.
10m/6m/2m/70cm Quadband with 0.5 - 1160MHz wide receive. AMF/FM/SSB receive and likely only FM TX, like usual.
Also 6m/2m/70cm tribander with the same wide RX.
Sadly no #23cm even on receive.
Will be interesting to see what price point these end up on.

This was a nice talk. and a fun NBFM receiver demo at the end.
It would be nice to see an additional Gekkokapula-like radios out there.
Especially now that the price of the first gen ERF32 Flex Geckos keep on increasing.

New (to me) devkit acquired.
It's by WiSpry for their WS1050 digitally tuned capacitor.
But the big thing for me is not the neat DTC, but that it is a known good, known working combination that talks RFFE to the DTC.
So I have something to compare against, if I try figure out my own implementation.

Sadly none of them seem to have the fancy OTK stamps.
Just normal resistors it seems.

One local radio club's stock of parts appears supremely modern.
Not that resistors stop working with age.
Especially when they are not carbon composition.

Modern internet connections are nice. 160gb game and it takes 1hour to download.
In 2003 it took a day to download Half-Life 2 on my connection.
Had to run it all night and day.

Noisy Regen minus the noise.
I might actually have to think about this build and not just use random parts that were the quickest to find.
Here's some background info on the circuit from VK2ZAY http://vk2zay.net/article/128

Seen here head on.
I wonder if it might be worth attempting at some point with some cheap stencils.
Like from jlc.

Oh hey, that's a new way of getting a good electrical connection for the screw side of a screw tuned filter.
The screw instead pushes the center of the spiral down.
