I have played with the new #dashboard feature in the latest #Vivaldi #browser snapshot and summarized my impressions on the forum for discussion (link below). Why a new dashboard when I already have #HomeAssistant running? Well, my mails and calendar and most visited sites are in @Vivaldi, and HA doesn't see those.

But even in this early version of the new feature in Vivaldi, it's super convenient (and somewhat funny) to add my HA dashboards as a #widget in Vivaldi's Dashboard. So I get the full power of HA in a widget and an overview over my new incoming emails right next to each other. Neat!

After 5-10 years we came across my boxes of CDs and DVDs. I haven't touched them in that time. I have all my music CDs on my NAS and almost everything is also available through various streaming services, I don't like the thought of being dependent on those having available what I am interested in. But I don't even have a full fledged CD/DVD player anymore, only a portable USB device. And yet I wonder if I should keep the CDs and DVDs...

"Does it give me joy to have these things?" ... Not sure.

"If there was some poop sticking to it, would I wash it or trash it?" ... Not sure.

Every so often I remember that I haven't listened to this song in a while. And then I do. And it blows me away, every single time. And then I listen to it three times in a row because I just have to. The story it tells, the melody, the intensity of the singing, the drums, the way the music drives home what's happening in the lyrics. #Genesis Driving the Last Spike is always an experience. Love it.

Yey YouTube ads!

What @Vivaldi don't say in their release blog post of version 6.7 today: if you use the updated Vivaldi Feed Reader to watch subscribed youtube channel videos, you don't get to see any ads. Not sure how long this will work until Google shuts shuts this circumvention down, but right now if you're sick and tired of youtube ads, just use Vivaldi's feed reader (it's a great browser/mail program for everything else anyway)

Note that if you do that, you may want to consider other ways to support the folks who produce the videos, (which is generally the case with adblocking. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Make sure that people who create things you enjoy get something in return).
